Goodness – I can’t believe it’s been an entire week since my last update!
I wanted to let you all know that I am still here, just that certain circumstances are currently not allowing the luxury of baking on a whim. And what are these circumstances I’m speaking of? Dorm life. Haha. Last Sunday I moved out of my house and into a room that is roughly 30×20 feet with a complete stranger to pursue a career in marketing. It’s awesome.
Despite the fact that I can’t whip up a batch of cupcakes at any moment of the day, I am having an incredible time becoming acclimated to this new lifestyle. There’s always a friend to hang out with, someone new to meet, and there’s always somewhere new to go. Campus is so beautiful, so sprawling and so lively that I – dare I say it – look forward to making the 20+ minute trek across campus to my WRA and MTH courses five times a week.
But back to baking: my future posts will be spread out, but they will come – I promise. Yesterday I walked to work and helped test macaron recipes for a few hours. Even though I produced batch after batch of consistent and spectacular failures, I am still hopeful that we’ll work out the issues and be able to sell them at the shop. But really, if nothing else, I was able to bake something and I had a great time hanging out with my boss. I had an amazing day, and that’s good enough for me!
So many incredible things have been happening lately… I don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up too much (mainly mine!) so I’m keeping one large event from the past week to myself, but it’s a very exciting thing. I’ll just say that I’ll keep you posted!
